Asbestos is a class of naturally occurring mineral that contains thin fibers. It has become a widely used material for construction before because of its affordability, durability, and its resistance to different elements such as fire, heat and electrical and chemical damage. • Stop all ventilation systems that could promote circulation of asbestos in the air.
• Confine the area and avoid letting anyone from going in and out during sample collection.
• Lay some plastic sheets on the area where sample collection will be done.
• Spray water to the area that will be tested to avoid other fibers to get into the air.
• Collect your samples and put it in a sealable container.
• Fix the area where sample was taken; seal it or patch it to avoid the spread out of fibers.
• Dispose used clothing and protective gear.
• And lastly, contact a testing center where the samples will be taken for analysis.
